We awoke about 6am and decided to have breakfast and an early swim and laze by the pool, determined that today would be the first day when we didn’t always feel that we wanted to sleep at any and every moment and that we would do things on board!

Yesterday’s low cloud had gone and we were soon at the outdoor pool area, enjoying the morning sun and the breeze caressing our skin so reminiscent of Lanzarote days. We had already left the Pacific for good and were now in the East China Sea heading for that bastion of non-Communist China, Taiwan. As the pool area started to get busy, we headed off for a hot chocolate and then determined to try out a new lunch venue – the Terrace Grill, high above the pool. There were a lot of “ .... and chips” items on offer – chicken and chips, Bratwurst and chips, Bockwurst and Sauerkraut, so we were well sorted.
After that, it was case of a sleep for Graeme and some Dan Brown for Elizabeth and we got going again in time for the trivia quiz at 4.30pm. We came 3rdfrom a large set of competitors, most groups consisting of 6 people, so we were fairly pleased with that. Pity we didn’t know who Julia Roberts’s first husband was or which fruit is considered to be the largest herb or that the Prophet Mohammed is buried in Medina and not Mecca!
After dinner we managed a Cha-Cha-Cha in the Wheelhouse Bar before giving in to the usual weariness. The clocks go back tonight so we are now only 7 hours ahead of the UK.
